Event Description and History
For the past 5 years the University of Delaware, along with a few of student organizations, has embraced the hip-hop community. Over time the Battle of the Emcees has become a norm, not only on the campus but in the Tri-State area. The battle has featured some of the top freestyle rappers on the East Coast. The event has been supported by numerous industry notables, such as Def Jam records, Allhiphop.com and Vibe Magazine.
The Battle of the Emcees tests one of the truest elements of Hip-Hop, the freestyle. This contest will provide some of the most talented rappers to gain maximum exposure and will assist in the advancement of their career in the hip hop industry.
